Mangaluru: Two youngsters arrested for selling drugs in car at Urwa
Mangaluru: Local police on Tuesday arrested two people while they were allegedly trying to sell MDMA powder (banned drug powder) near Shirdi Sai Temple in Urwa Chilimbi here in the city.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammed Azeem (30) and Mohammed Niyaz (25). The duo were reportedly trying to sell the banned drug from a car near the temple.
A police team led by Economic and Narcotics Crime Police Inspector raided the Alto car which was being used by the accused to sell drugs near Shirdi Sai Temple. The Police team had received credible information regarding the case before they carried the raid.
4.80 grams of MDMA Drug, car used by the accused, three mobile phones and cash Rs. 3000/- have been recovered from the accused during the raid.
A case has been registered at Mangaluru City Economic and Narcotics Crime Police Station.

Yogish Goudar murder case: Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni, 16 others sentenced to life imprisonment

Bengaluru: A special court for people’s representatives has sentenced Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and 16 others to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of BJP leader Yogish Goudar.
The verdict was delivered by judge Santhosh Gajanana Bhat. The court had earlier, on Wednesday, held all 17 accused guilty of murdering Goudar, while reserving the quantum of punishment.
On Friday, the court pronounced the sentence, awarding life imprisonment to all the convicted persons in the case.
Yogish Goudar, a BJP member from the Hebballi Zilla Panchayat constituency in Dharwad district, was murdered in 2016.
