Mangaluru: In an incident reported in the city on Saturday, a woman has alleged that she found an alive worm in a food package ordered online from noted fast food restaurant chain of the city "Chicking, it's my choice".

The woman, identified as Simran Kola, has filed a complaint in this regard at the Lady Hill Police Station in the city.

According to the complaint, the woman ordered food from the City Centre Mall's outlet of the restaurant and consumed half of the items that they ordered. It further adds, they soon found a alive worm that was crawling out of one of the burgers in the package.

Speaking to Vartha Bharati, Simran also alleged that when they brought the issue to the notice of the restaurant, they were unable to get a appropriate response from the staff, prompting them to file a police complaint in this regard.

She further questioned as to who was to be held responsible if such irresponsible acts of restaurants compromise with the health of consumers.

She has also urged authorities to take action against the food outlet in this regard.

The manager of the outlet Keshav Das, also spoke to Vartha Bharati and added that they cook chicken at 163 degree heat and it was impossible for the worm to survive it. He further stated that there were no complaints of such mishaps against the company and outlet.
