Mangaluru: In an incident of fire that reportedly occurred on Friday night, a Nandini Milk Booth near Kulshekar Silver Gate was destroyed in a fire. 

The ‘Vijeth Nandini Milk Parlour’, a Milk Booth that belonged to a disabled individual named Vasanth Kumar was reportedly open till 9.30 pm on Friday. However, late-night around 2.25 am, the Kadri Fire Station received distress to which they responded immediately and found that the Booth had been partially destroyed in the fire. 

Almost 500 litres of milk and other products inside the booth were damaged, it is learned. A loss of close to Rs. 2.50 Lakh rupees have been estimated in the aftermath of the fire. 

A short circuit inside the parlour could have started the fire, it is being said.

Imphal/Shillong (PTI): Manipur was struck by an earthquake of 5.2 magnitude on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The quake occurred at 5.59 am with its epicentre located in Kamjong district, they added.

Tremors were felt in neighbouring Ukhrul district and state capital Imphal, and even Meghalaya but no casualty or damage has been reported so far.
