Bengaluru: The Meteorological Department on Thursday forecasted several parts of the state will witness rainfall over the next couple of days including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Hassan, Bengaluru, Shivamogga, and Kodagu districts.
It has been revealed that heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected due to the depression in the Arabian Sea.
Bengaluru Rural, Tumkur, Mysore, Mandya, and Chamarajnagar districts are likely to witness rainfall along with thunder and lightning on 15 and 16 of April, reports said.
Meteorological expert Dr. Shrinivas Reddy informed that the monsoon in Karnataka is not expected to exceed the usual limit. However, he noted that northern inlands are likely to be deprived of rains in July and August.

Chennai (PTI): Veteran leader of the CPI, R Nallakannu died here on Wednesday, the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital said.
He was aged about 101, party sources said.
A hospital bulletin said, despite intensive care, he passed away at 1.55 PM on February 25, 2026 following failure of all vital organs.
