Mangaluru: ‘Deccan Carpets’ a new outlet dealing in carpet, matt, mattresses and furniture was on Sunday inaugurated at the Paradigm Plaza opp. A B Shetty circle near RTO office in Pandeshwar here in the city.
The showroom was inaugurated by Y. Abdulla Kunhi, Chairman, Yenepoya Group. After inaugurating the showroom, Abdulla Kunhi lauded the rapid and constant growth of Deccan Plast in Coastal Karnataka. He also wished the new venture of the organisation ‘Deccan Carpets’ success in the market.
Inaugurating the mattress section Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath added that the Mangaluru market needs modernization amidst competition in the market.
“Carpets are used everywhere these days so it’s a good idea to get into this industry. If the youth believes and dedicate themselves businesses their ventures will be successful. Patience is the key when you enter the market and customer satisfaction is something they should work towards achieving to attract more customers” Kamath said.
MLC Ivan D’Souza inaugurated the furniture section of the store and lauded the entrepreneurial skills of the owner of the showroom Asgar Ali and his family members. He also wished the store success in the market.
S M Rasheed Haji, President Bearys Chamber of Commerce and Industry, former MLA Mohiuddin Bava, Vijaykumar Shetty, U T Iftikhar Ali, Syndicate Member of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences were present during the inauguration of the workshop and wished well for the new venture.

Berhampur (Odisha) (PTI): Two girls drowned while bathing in a village pond in Odisha's Ganjam district on Tuesday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Pranjali Dora (11), a class 6 student, and Manini Dora (12), a student of class 7, both residents of Patanda village in Digapahandi police station area, a police officer said.
After returning home from school, they went to the village pond to take a bath like every other day. However, they slipped and fell into deep waters. Locals noticed them drowning and tried to rescue them but failed, he said.
Fire brigade personnel from Digapahandi retrieved the girls after a two-hour search and they were rushed to a nearby community health centre, where doctors declared them dead, Digapahandi police station officer-in-charge Kishor Kumar Samal said.
He said the bodies have been handed over to the respective families after conducting post-mortem examinations at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.
He said unnatural death cases have been registered and an investigation launched.
