Newly married couple found hanging at their apartment in Mangaluru, suicide suspected
Mangaluru: The dead bodies of a young couple were recovered from inside their apartment in a state indicating suicide, near Maroli in the jurisdiction of the Kankanady police station on Monday.
The deceased young couple, originally from Koppa, have been identified as Mallikarjun Basavaraj (35) and Soumya Nayak (34), it is learned.
Their bodies were reportedly recovered from their apartment hanging from the ceiling fan. The couple is said to have gotten married just a year ago.
The reason behind their apparent suicide is yet to be ascertained.
Local police have registered a case and investigations are underway.

Earlier, the news network, citing Bahrain’s Interior Ministry, had reported that several residential buildings were targeted in the incident.
The verified footage shows an Iranian drone hitting a tower in Manama.
A loud explosion is heard at the moment of impact, followed by a large fire and thick plumes of smoke billowing from the building.
