Shirva, July 27: Josna Quadars, wife of Ashwin Mathias of Kutyar Agardande, who was working as a nurse in a government hospital at Saudi Arabia, died at the women’s hostel where she was residing mysteriously on July 19. She was 29.
The reason for her death is not yet known. In the hostel, Josna died mysteriously on that evening. After two days of her death, her friend has informed her husband and relatives in the village, according to her relatives.
Her husband Ashwin Mathias, with the help of MLC Ivan D’Souza, made letter correspondence with the Indian High Commission in Saudi Arabia. But he did not get any information about the reasons for her death. They married three years ago and they did not have issues. Josna has been working as a nurse in Saudi Arabia for the last six years. Her husband Ashwin Mathias who was working in Dubai, had returned to village two years ago and working as a contractor.
Postmortem was conducted and investigation is being held. But there was no news about the progress of the investigation. As there is suspicion over the death, it might take another 20 days to get the body, according to family members.

Udupi/Mangaluru: Different parts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts experienced unexpected rainfall late Thursday evening and night, with many people finding the showers an obstruction to their celebrations on the first day of Diwali festival.
Several parts of Udupi district, including places like Udupi, Brahmavar and Manipal, were drenched in rain on Thursday evening. The roads were inundated on account of the showers, disappointing people who had planned for short outings in Udupi. Vehicle users were seen struggling to traverse on the stretches due to the rainwater on the roads.
In Dakshina Kannada, rainfall was reported in Mangaluru. Some parts of the city experienced moderate rainfall in the evening, while thundershowers and strong wind were also reported in some areas of Mangaluru.
