Mangaluru: Driver of a Maruti Omni car lost control over the wheels and rammed the vehicle into a compound of Masjid here on Tuesday afternoon at 10th Mile in Farangipet.

Five people including the driver of the car has reportedly sustained injuries in the accident.

Ismail and Sulaiman who were in the Masjid campus sustained injuries. Three people who were in the car have also sustained injuries, the identity of the trio is yet to be ascertained.

All the victims have been rushed to the hospital for treatment immediately after the accident.

The car belonging to Prasad Eye Care hospital was heading towards Mangaluru from BC Road when the driver lost control over the wheels and diverted the vehicle towards the Tahwa Juma Masjid beside highway and entered the mosque compound. 

The whole incident has been captured in the CCTV cameras of mosque.

Local Police have reached the spot and are investigating the case.

Hassan: The driver of a tipper reportedly died in Nettekere village of Belur taluk after suffering an electric shock when the vehicle came in contact with electric wire while emptying the sand transported in it.

The deceased driver, Dileep (33) of Hanumanahalli in Holenarasipura taluk, is said to have failed to notice the wire above the vehicle while tipping the sand in the truck. Immediately as the wire touched the tipper, however, Dileep suffered a shock and is said to have died on the spot.

Belur Police, who were informed of the incident, visited the spot and are learned to have held an inspection.
