Hyderabad: The Telangana government has permitted all Muslim employees to leave workplaces an hour early during Ramzan. According to an order issued by the General Administration Department, employees can leave at 4:00 pm from March 2 to 31, including both days.

The order applies to Muslim government employees, teachers, and those working on contract, outsourcing, and in public sector organisations. However, they are required to stay back in case of exigencies.

Signed by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, the order states that the relaxation is granted to facilitate prayers during the holy month.

Additionally, a holiday notice issued by the department mentions that any changes in the dates of Idu'l Fitr, Idu'l Azha, Muharram, or Id-e-Milad, based on moon sighting or other announcements, will be communicated through electronic and print media.

Telangana government offices remain closed on all Sundays and second Saturdays each month.
