One killed, another critically injured as two-wheeler collide with car in Puttur
Puttur: In a tragic road accident reported on Saturday, a man riding his two-wheeler died on the spot after colliding with a car near Berike, Puttur-Uppinangady here.
The deceased has been identified as Ashwath, a resident of Nekkare, Bellipady village, Puttur.
According to the reports pillion rider identified as Varshit (18) has sustained severe injuries and is currently being treated at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Reports further added that Ashwath fell off his two-wheeler after colliding with the car and succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Varshit was rushed to the hospital immediately after the incident by the motorists.
The Puttur Traffic Police have registered a case in this regard.

CPI stalwart Nallakannu dead
Chennai (PTI): Veteran leader of the CPI, R Nallakannu died here on Wednesday, the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital said.
He was aged about 101, party sources said.
A hospital bulletin said, despite intensive care, he passed away at 1.55 PM on February 25, 2026 following failure of all vital organs.
