Pained by sister's death, brother dies within five hours of her death in Kundapur
Kundapur: In an incident that occurred on Monday, the sibling duo of a brother and a sister passed away on the same day at Belvai.
The deceased siblings who died within 5 hours of each other’s death have been identified as Subbanna Naik (65) and his younger sister Girija (60), residents of Jeddu by the main road in Belvai.
On Monday, Girija experienced a heart attack around 2 pm and passed away in her residence. Shocked at the news of his sister’s death, older brother Subbanna experienced a heart attack that same evening around 7 pm and passed away in a hospital, it is learned.
Although both lived in separate residences, their homes were beside one another.
Girija is survived by her only son. Subbanna is survived by his wife, son, and three daughters.

5.2-magnitude quake jolts Manipur
Imphal/Shillong (PTI): Manipur was struck by an earthquake of 5.2 magnitude on Tuesday morning, officials said.
The quake occurred at 5.59 am with its epicentre located in Kamjong district, they added.
Tremors were felt in neighbouring Ukhrul district and state capital Imphal, and even Meghalaya but no casualty or damage has been reported so far.
