The Verdict [False]
The original Instagram video, posted by Delhi-based YouTuber Raj Thakur, clearly states in the caption that it is scripted and not a real incident.
What is the claim?
A video clip of a man wearing a skullcap holding hands with a young girl is circulating on social media with the claim that it shows a Muslim man in Pakistan marrying his daughter. In the clip, the man can be heard speaking in Hindi: “I don’t want my daughter to go to another house and be troubled, so I married her myself. She is two months pregnant as well. However, the problem we are facing is that now our relatives are not accepting this marriage.”
One user on X shared the video with the caption: “Pakistani man proudly displays his child bride, a girl likely under 14 years old, highlighting the disturbing reality of child marriage.”
Another user shared the clip while mentioning that Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray used to “exalt Hinduism and now his son Uddhav is appeasing Muslims.” In a follow-up reply, the same user clarified that the video was posted to highlight the need for shutting down such “fake channels.” Archives of similar posts can be found here and here.

However, the video is not factual; it is scripted.
What are the facts?
A reverse image search of a keyframe from the viral video led us to the original clip posted by an Instagram account of one Raj Thakur (official_rajthakur__), on March 6, 2025 (archived here). The video was captioned, “I married my own daughter; she is pregnant,” and notably included a disclaimer stating, “This video is totally scripted, not real.”

The bio of the Instagram account identifies the user as a YouTuber from Delhi. On scrolling through the account, we found several similar skits. A video posted in January 2024 (archived here) shows the same man from the viral video lamenting that he was born Muslim, with the caption once again clarifying that it was scripted.
Another video uploaded in October 2023 (archived here) features the same man in a staged scene where a man is seen dragging a woman, accompanied by the caption: “A girl fell in love with a man her father’s age.”
