Puttur: Moving car catches fire
Puttur: A moving car caught fire and reduced to ashes on Monday in the limits of Sampya rural police station limits.
The Ford Ikon car belonging to one Irshad of Paltadi caught fire when he was proceeding from Paltadi to Puttur. Luckily, Irshad escaped unhurt.
The driver of the ambulance, which was coming after the car, sighted the fire and informed Irshad. Soon after Irshad got off from the vehicle, the vehicle burnt and reduced to ashes.
The fire tenders rushed to the spot and doused the fire. But, until then, the car was completely burnt. Puttur Sampya police have registered a case.

US Consulate in Dubai reportedly attacked
Dubai: Smoke was seen rising from an area near the United States Consulate in Dubai, according to witness accounts cited by Reuters.
There was no immediate official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties in the incident.
Earlier, the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, was also attacked. Authorities reported damage to the premises, but no casualties were recorded.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran continuing to target US interests in the Middle East following deadly attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States.
