Puttur: The Town Police officials have registered a case against the supporters of Arun Kumar Puthila under charge of causing public disturbance, as they staged a victory rally without permission on the main road of Puttur town after results of gram panchayat by-elections in the taluk were declared.
The results of the by-elections to the Aryapu and Nidpalli Gram Panchayats were declared on Wednesday. Subrahmanya Balyaya, the candidate of the Puthila Parivara, a group of Puthila supporters, had won the by-elections to the Aryapu GP while the candidate fielded by Puthila Parivara had lost the bypoll in Nidpalli by a narrow margin.
The members of the Puthila Parivara took out their rally from outside the Puttur Taluk Panchayat office, where the counting to the bypolls was held, till the office of the Puthila Parivara, traversing the main road of Puttur town. A disc jockey (DJ) was also hired to participate in the victory rally, all of which was held without prior permission of the police.
The Town Police officers have filed the case against the group for staging the rally sans permit and causing a disturbance on the streets of the town.

Jaipur, Dec 24: Efforts to rescue a three-year-old girl who fell into a 150 feet deep borewell in Kotputli-Behror district of Rajasthan continued on Tuesday.
The girl, Chetna, fell into the borewell while playing in the agriculture farm of her father on Monday.
SHO Sarund Mohammad Imran said teams of NDRF and SDRF are trying to rescue the girl safely.
Senior Commandant of NDRF Yogesh Meena said, "After failing to safely pull out the girl from the borewell with a ring rod, efforts are being made to pull her out with another local equipment made of iron plate."
The girl's actions were captured on camera and an oxygen pipe was lowered into the borewell to supply oxygen.
Two weeks ago, a five-year-old child fell into a borewell in Dausa district. The rescue operation to rescue the child safely lasted for more than 55 hours. However, by the time he was pulled out, the child had lost the battle of life.
