Puttur, October 10: A youth electrocuted when he came in contact with a live wire of power connection of the house, at Kukkaje of Kedila village in Bantwala taluk on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Dayananda (30), son of Rama Bangera of Kukkaje. Working as a mason, Dayanand was living alone in the house. On Tuesday, he returned home in the evening. But he was found dead in a position of holding the live electric wire beside the courtyard of the house on Wednesday morning.

It is suspected that he might have tried to repair the power wire as there was no power supply in the house on Tuesday night and got electrocuted. Rama Bangera is working as a cook at a hotel in Badiyadka in Kasaragod district, while his mother died long back. His brother settled in Mangaluru. So, Dayanand was living alone in the house. A case was registered at Puttur police station.
