Mangaluru: The 142nd meeting of the Syndicate of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science (RGUHS) is set to take place in Mangaluru on 29th June 2019 at the Ocean Pearl Hotel here in the city. The occasion also marks the first ever meeting of the syndicate being held in Mangaluru.

Prof. U T Iftikhar Ali and Dr. Shiv Sharan Shetty, the two syndicate members of the RGUHS hailing from Mangaluru will be organising the event here.

Dr. Sacchidanand, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of RGUHS, Dr. Chandrashekar, Deputy. Secretary of Medical Education, Meenakshi Negi, Commissioner, AYUSH, Dr. T S Prabhakar, Director of Health & Family Welfare, Shivanand Kapashi IAS, Registrar, RGUHS, and Dr. K B Lingegowda Registrar Evaluation, RGUHS and all the Syndicate members of RGUHS, Dr. G R Chandrashekhar, Dr. Bhagvan B C, Dr. Kiran Kumar N, Dr. Umesh Babu S, Dr. Ravishankar Shetty, Dr. Ravindra H N, Dr. Kiran Kailash, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Dr. H J Jaikrishna, Dr. Deepthi Bawa, Dr. Sudheer W R, Dr. V T Venkatesh, Dr. Chandrashekar H S, Dr. H Veerabhadrappa,Dr. Annadani M Meri, and Dr. Shiva Sharan Shetty & Prof. U T Ifthikar Ali will be will be among the dignitaries and delegates attending the meeting on Saturday.

The meeting is scheduled to being at 11.00 am and will continue till 4.00 pm in the evening.

Speaking to Vartha Bharati Prof. U T Iftikhar Ali expressed his excitement over the meeting being held in Mangaluru for the first time. “It is for the first time in history that the syndicate meeting of RGUHS is being held in our Mangaluru. It is the 142nd meeting of the syndicate” he said.

Jaisalmer (PTI): Indian Air Force's firepower demonstration -- Exercise Vayu Shakti -- began at the Pokharan range in Western Rajasthan near the India-Pakistan border on Friday in the presence of President Droupadi Murmu.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, IAF chief Air Marshal A P Singh, Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat are also present at the event.

IAF fighter jets, transport aircraft and helicopters are participating in the day-dusk-night demonstration that involves synchronised operations aimed at validating operational preparedness, precision strike capability, and rapid response mechanisms.

'Vayu Shakti' aims to showcase the IAF's operational preparedness, precision strike capability and ability to undertake multi-domain operations.
