Mangaluru: It is surprising that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not come forward to accept the aid when the governments of UAE and Thailand wanted to help the flood victims," said MLC BM Farooq.

On humanitarian grounds, foreign governments have come forward to assist the Kerala flood victims, who have been a significant contributor to the UAE's economic development. There is nothing wrong in India getting financial assistance from foreign countries in order to provide greater support to the victims. According to the rules of the NDRF (National Disaster Response Force

), this kind of assistance can be accepted; said MLC, JDS general secretary BM Farooq.

JDS district president Vittla Mohammed Kunhi, JDS state vice president M.B. Sadashiva, State Secretary Rizwan, spokesperson Sushil Narhona, district leader Vasant Poojary and others were present.
