Two of same family died within six days
Batwala, October 16: Another person of Sajipanadu who was admitted to a hospital following suspected H1N1 virus died in the hospital on Tuesday morning. With the death of the woman, the disease claimed mother and her daughter of the same family within six days. Now the family and the local people are under panic.
The victim has been identified as Zabina (22), daughter of late Mayyaddi of Sajipanadu. Though she was admitted to a hospital, she died today morning as she was not responded to the treatment. Zabina mother Avvamma(44) died of H1N1 on October 10.
Confirming the death of Avvamma due to H1N1, taluk medical officer Dr Deepa Prabhu said that Zabina was also suffering from H1N. Another suspected patient from Sajipanadu was admitted to the hospital. She is yet to get the medical report about the patient, she added.
Four of same family died in two weeks
Mayyaddi, the head of the family, who was suffering for the last eight months, died on October 01. The new born baby of Zabina, the second daughter of Mayyaddi, died of neonatal syndrome on October 4. Mayyaddi's wife Ammamma died on October 10 due to H1N1. Now Zubina succumbed to the disease today morning.

Bengaluru: Woman techie dies by suicide over astrologer's prediction on marriage

Bengaluru (PTI): A 27-year-old techie allegedly died by suicide by hanging herself in her room at her residence here, reportedly distressed over an astrologer's prediction about her marriage, police said on Monday.
The incident occurred on Friday at MEI Layout in Bagalagunte, they said.
The deceased, identified as Vidyajyoti, was in a relationship with a man from another caste. Both families had agreed to the marriage as per her wishes, police said.
Citing a preliminary inquiry, a senior police officer said her parents had recently consulted an astrologer, who allegedly predicted that there could be misunderstandings between the couple two years into the marriage, possibly leading to separation.
To avert this, the astrologer reportedly advised performing a nine-day ritual, which the family undertook, he said.
However, on the ninth day of the ritual, Vidyajyoti allegedly went to her room and died by suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan when her parents were not home, he added.
The incident came to light in the evening when she did not respond despite repeated knocks on the door. Her father later broke open the door and found her hanging, police said.
Bagalagunte police have registered a UDR (Unnatural Death Report) case, and further investigation is underway.
