Mangaluru: The students of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), Mangaluru, are all in readiness to organize the very first edition of TEDxSJEC on Sunday, 16 February 2020. The event is scheduled to be held on the said date at Kalam Auditorium, 5th Floor, Academic Block-II of the college.

Reminiscent to the theme for the day-long event "Love Conquers All", a select group of individuals from all over the country, who have stood tall for love and have conquered great odds to succeed in life, have been picked from a spectrum of backgrounds and age groups to speak at the event.

Manipal: The Manipal police arrested two accused within 11 hours of registering a bike theft case following a swift investigation.

The accused have been identified as Sharath (26) and Ganesh (31), residents of Netaji Nagar in 80 Badagabettu village.

According to police, a complaint was filed after a motorcycle belonging to Sudarshan was stolen on February 21. The bike had been parked near Veera Maruti Bhajana Mandir in Rahul Nagar, Badagabettu village.

According to the complaint, police traced and arrested the accused and recovered the stolen motorcycle from their possession. The duo was later produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.

Police said over 11 theft cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations, including Manipal, Udupi City, Bhadravati, Koppa, Thirthahalli, Madikeri and Tumakuru.

Further investigation is under way.
