Mangaluru: Former Mangaluru City North MLA B A Mohiuddin Bava said that he was still in JDS and would extend his support to BJP. He was addressing the media in the Press Club in Mangaluru on Monday. However he refused to agree with all the policies of BJP, Mohiuddin Bava stated.
Conveying his supporters wish for him to contest in the upcoming general elections, Mohiuddin Bava said that he would take a decision after consulting with his well-wishers at a meeting in Jamiyyatul Falah hall, Kankanady on March 28.
Responding to the query about his leaving JDS, the former MLA stated that he was still in the party and had accepted its alliance with BJP. “Nevertheless, I don’t agree with BJP on all terms. I clearly oppose its stand on CAA, hijab and azan. I had even disapproved Kumaraswamy’s visit to Kalladka School”, he added.

Attributing his loss of ticket for the previous Vidhana Sabha election to the Congress state president, Mohiuddin Bava grieved that the party had neglected him completely while he fasted and waited for the leaders, while welcoming defecting BJP leader Jagadish Shettar by helicopters.
“So I was forced to join JDS. I contested from JDS even though my supporters wanted me to be an independent candidate. I will not repeat that mistake this time. I shall follow their suggestions”, Bava said.

Bareilly (UP), Nov 24: Three people died when their car fell into the Ramganga river from a partially constructed bridge here on Sunday, police said, adding that they suspect the driver was misled by its navigation system into taking the unsafe route.
The accident occurred around 10 am on the Khalpur-Dataganj road when the victims were travelling from Bareilly to Dataganj in the Badaun district, they said.
"Earlier this year, floods had caused the front portion of the bridge to collapse into the river, but this change had not been updated in the system," Circle Officer Ashutosh Shivam said.
The driver was using a navigation system and did not realise that the bridge was unsafe, driving the car off the damaged section, the police said.
There were no safety barriers or warning signs on the approach to the damaged bridge, leading to the fatal accident, Shivam said.
Upon receiving information, police teams from Faridpur, Bareilly and Dataganj police station rushed to the spot. They recovered the vehicle and the bodies from the river, Shivam added.
The circle officer said that bodies had been sent for post-mortem. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
