Subramanya: Two people have been arrested for allegedly poisoning their own father’s food. The incident took place under Subramanya Police Station limits.

The victim father who was poisoned and is currently being treated at a hospital in Mangaluru has been identified as Honappa Naik. The accused sons have been identified as Deviprasad (33) and Lokesh (35).

The duo was arrested following a complaint of Monappa’s wife Savita.

Savita is reportedly the second wife of Honappa and the two accused are said to be the children from his first wife.

Police sources added that Lokesh and Deviprasad used to fight with Honappa over a property dispute and had grudges with father over the issue.

On July 23, Honappa’s daughter came home and brought food made of pork meat. Honappa ate the food at morning around 6 am on July 24. The complaint states Honappa started vomiting immediately after eating the food and was soon taken to a private hospital in Mangaluru where he is being treated currently.

The police have registered a case in this regard and further investigations are underway.

New Delhi, Apr 28: The Delhi Police registered a case on Sunday after a complaint by the Ministry of Home Affairs in connection with the doctored videos of Union Home Minister Amit Shah being circulated on social media platforms, officials said.

The Special Cell has registered an FIR under various sections of the IPC and relevant provision of the IT Act, they said. Sources in the Special Cell said that now arrests are likely to follow across the country.

According to the complaint filed by Sinku Sharan Singh, DC, Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), some doctored videos are being circulated on social media with "the intent of creating disharmony among communities which is likely to affect public tranquility and public order."

According to the complainant, links from which the videos were shared were also attached for further action.

A copy of the FIR was also sent to the IFSO unit of the Delhi Cyber Police.
