Sultan Gold and Diamonds' owner Kunhi Ahmed Haji no more
Mangaluru: Kunhi Ahmed Haji, owner of Sultan Gold and Diamonds passed away in a private hospital in Mangaluru. He was 76. Sultan Gold, founded by Ahmed in Kumble is today a trusted and reputed name in the Gold and Diamonds business in Kerala and Karnataka.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and three daughters. The funeral rites of Ahmed Haji will be held at Kumble Juma Masjid on Wednesday, family sources informed.

Yogish Goudar murder case: Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni, 16 others sentenced to life imprisonment

Bengaluru: A special court for people’s representatives has sentenced Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and 16 others to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of BJP leader Yogish Goudar.
The verdict was delivered by judge Santhosh Gajanana Bhat. The court had earlier, on Wednesday, held all 17 accused guilty of murdering Goudar, while reserving the quantum of punishment.
On Friday, the court pronounced the sentence, awarding life imprisonment to all the convicted persons in the case.
Yogish Goudar, a BJP member from the Hebballi Zilla Panchayat constituency in Dharwad district, was murdered in 2016.
