Three of a family died in lorry-car collision
Yallapura, June 26: Three persons of a family including a two-year-old child died on the spot when their car collided head-on with a lorry at Chikkamavalli on National Highway 63 in the taluk on Tuesday.
The deceased are identified as Vinayak Hegde (35), Archana (30) and Shravani (2) of Araginamane in Sirsi. Four-year-old boy who sustained severe injuries was admitted to the Yallapura government hospital. All the four were going towards Hubli from Sirsi when their car collided with the lorry coming to Yallapura.
Yallapura CPI Manjunath Nayak, PSI SM Hugar visited the spot and inspected. Yallapura police registered a case.

US Consulate in Dubai reportedly attacked
Dubai: Smoke was seen rising from an area near the United States Consulate in Dubai, according to witness accounts cited by Reuters.
There was no immediate official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties in the incident.
Earlier, the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, was also attacked. Authorities reported damage to the premises, but no casualties were recorded.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran continuing to target US interests in the Middle East following deadly attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States.
