Karkala: In a tragic incident reported from Miyar in Karkala Taluk two youngsters who were writing "Happy New Year" on road, died after being hit by a car on late Thursday night here.

The deceased have been identified as Sharan (26) and Siddhu (25), both residents of Vijayapura District. 

Two others, identified as Thouseef and Basavaraj were injured in the accident and were shifted to Karkala Government Hospital for treatment.

The incident took place when the four were writing "Happy New Year" on road around 10:45 pm on Thursday. A Maruti Eco car hit the accident victims, killing two and injuring others.

One of the victim reportedly died on the spot while another breathed his last in the hospital.

A case has been registered at Karkala Police Station in this regard

Ajman, UAE: Karnataka Legislative Council member and Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Nazir Ahmed, visited the Ajman Ruler’s Court and Thumbay Medicity, strengthening ties between Karnataka and the UAE.
