Two arrested for stone-throwing incident at MLC Ivan D'Souza's residence
Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Police have arrested two individuals in connection with the recent stone-throwing incident at the residence of Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Ivan D'Souza. The arrests were made after a thorough investigation led by a special team under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Central, following an FIR registered at the South Police Station.
The suspects, identified as Bharat alias Yakshith (24) and Dinesh Kurthamogeru (20), were arrested after a detailed review of CCTV footage, verification of vehicle details, and eyewitness accounts. Bharat, who works as a driver, is a resident of Narayan Kodi House in Bolantoor Village, Bantwal Taluk, and has three prior assault cases against him. Dinesh, employed in finance collection at Kanyana, resides in Parthipadi House, Kolnadu Village, Bantwal Taluk, and has one prior case of assault.

During interrogation, both men confessed to the crime, stating that their actions were motivated by anger over statements made by MLC Ivan D'Souza. According to their confession, the decision to target D'Souza's residence was made impulsively after they had dinner at Frish Crown Hotel around 9:30 PM.
The police investigation, which included verification of the accused's movements through CCTV footage and mobile records, has independently corroborated their involvement in the incident.
