Two arrested in Businessman Mumtaz Ali's death
Mangaluru: City police have reportedly made two arrests in connection with Businessman, Social and Religious leader BM Mumtaz Ali's death case.
The arrested accused have identified Rehmat and her husband Shuaib, residents of Surathkal, Krishnapur.
According to the city police commissioner's office, the couple was traced and arrested near Melkar in Bantwal.
A case was registered at Kavoor Police Station against 6 individuals, alleging that owing to pressure from Rehmat and Shuaib, Mumtaz Ali jumped into the Kulur river.
Mumtaz Ali's body was found near the river on Monday, October 7.

The investigation is being conducted under the guidance of Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal, with leadership from DCP's Siddarth Goyal and Dinesh Kumar, as well as MangAluru North Sub-Divisional Assistant Commissioner of Police Srikanth.
The Kavoor Police Station Police Inspector Raghavendra M. Byndoor, Deputy Inspectors Mallikarjuna Biradar, Nalini and Staff Nagaratna, C. Praveen participated in the inspection.

Leh-bound SpiceJet plane faces engine issue; returns to national capital
New Delhi (PTI): A Leh-bound SpiceJet aircraft returned to the national capital due to an engine issue on Tuesday morning, according to a source.
There were around 150 people on board the Boeing 737 aircraft that was operating the flight SG121, the source added.
When contacted, a SpiceJet spokesperson said a flight operating from Delhi to Leh on Tuesday returned to Delhi after experiencing a technical issue.
"The aircraft landed safely in Delhi, and all passengers were disembarked normally," the spokesperson said in a statement.
The source said the aircraft suffered an engine issue.
