Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada on Friday two more positive cases of Corona Virus in the District, taking the total number of cases in the District to 24. Two male patients tested positive for the virus in the District on Friday.

According to the state health bulletin, the 62-year old husband of the 58-year old woman of Bolar who tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, also tested positive for the virus on Friday. Another 69-year old patient hailing from Kasaba in Bantwal Taluk also tested positive for the virus.

The 58-year old woman was admitted to a private hospital in Padil where a staffer had tested positive for the virus. After her discharge, the woman had symptoms of fever following which she was admitted to Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru and tested positive for Corona Virus on Thursday. Her husband tested positive for the virus on Friday.

The other patient who tested positive on Friday hails from Bantwal and is a neighbor of the woman who died due to the virus on April 19.

Thane (PTI): A wild fox was rescued on Sunday after it fell into an open water tank in Thane's Shil area, an official said.

The rescue operation, which started at noon, was a coordinated effort between the Fire Brigade, wildlife personnel that took one hour, Thane Municipal Corporation disaster management cell chief Yasin Tadvi said.

"The fox fell into a tank located near Muktai residency on Kalyan-Shilphata road. The rescue proved challenging due to the confined space of the tank. However, through the combined efforts of the fire brigade and forest officials, the fox was safely pulled out after nearly an hour of careful manoeuvring," Tadvi said.

Following the rescue, the animal was checked for injuries and taken by the forest department for further observation before its eventual release, he said.
