Udupi: District Deputy Commissioner, G Jagadeesh on Tuesday evening announced that the District Administration will lift the borders seal down of the district from July 22. He further informed the bus services in the district will also resume from July 22.

The announcement comes hours after Karnataka CM, Yediyurappa announced that lockdown in Bengaluru or any other part of the state will not be extended any further, suggesting people should wear masks and maintain physical distancing strictly.

Jagadeesh on Tuesday evening noted that although the seal down of the borders of the district will be lifted, check posts on the border will be set up and urged people to enter the district only in cases of emergency.

Speaking of the resumption of bus services in the district, Jagadeesh informed that the KSRTC bus service will resume from July 22 and a meeting with private bus owners will be held on Wednesday to discuss the issue.

He also assured the people of the district that in case the private busses refuse to resume services, the government will make arrangements to ply government busses on all the routes.

Kalaburagi: A man was found dead, with his body seen hanging, in his own field in Hulasaguda village of Kalagi taluk on Saturday morning. The cause for death is unknown as yet.

The deceased, identified as Revanasiddhappa Shettappa (26), is learned to have been a resident of Hulasaguda village.

Ratkal Police Sub-inspector Sheela Devi reportedly visited the spot where the man’s body was found and inspected it.

Police have registered a case in this regard and are probing the death of the Shettappa.
