Udupi: Following the arrest of the accused in the gruesome Nejar massacre within two days of the incident, Udupi District Muslim Okkuta released a press statement lauding the action by the Udupi Police.
In an official release following an emergency meeting, the organization expressed gratitude to the police personnel, particularly Superintendent of Police, for their efficient operation.
However, the Udupi District Muslim Okkuta condemned certain media outlets and websites for spreading baseless speculations about the victims' family members. The organization emphasized the need for a comprehensive police investigation to determine the actual reasons behind the carnage.
They urged the media to report responsibly and avoid spreading rumors, emphasizing that patience and cooperation are crucial until the investigation is complete.
The Udupi District Muslim Okkuta called for a thorough investigation into this barbaric incident, describing it as the most heinous massacre in Udupi's history. They demanded trial and punishment to the full extent of the law for the accused and anyone involved. Additionally, the organization urged the government to appoint a special public prosecutor to assist in the investigation.

Bantwal: SSLC student dies after electrocution
Bantwal: A 15-year-old boy died after coming into contact with an electric wire in Gadiara village on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Shaheer, son of Sharif, a resident of Neralakatte.
Shaheer, an SSLC student at Mountain View English Medium School, Puttur, had gone to his grandfather’s house in nearby Gadiara village during the school holidays. He came into contact with an electric wire and died at the scene.
He is survived by his parents, a brother, two sisters, and family members.
