Uppala: CPM activist brutally killed
Manjeshwar: A 21-year-old CPM activist brutally killed with lethal weapons at Mangalpady near Uppala on Sunday night. The victim has been identified as Somkalu resident Azeem’s son Abubakar Siddiq.
A group of four assailants came on bikes and killed him at around 11 pm last night. Siddiq succumbed to injuries while being taken to the hospital.
Abubakar Siddiq, who was working in Qatar, had returned to his hometown a few days ago.
Meanwhile, the CPM has accused RSS and BJP’s hand behind the murder.
A strict police bandobast has been beefed up on the spot. A team of police led by Kasaragod DySP MV Sukumaran, Kumble CI Prem Sadan has launched the investigation.

One dead due to electrocution on 'Jailer 2' movie set in Chennai
Chennai (PTI): A 28-year-old worker died of electrocution on the sets of the upcoming Tamil film 'Jailer 2', starring Superstar Rajinikanth, at a private film studio here, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Karthikeyan.
The incident occurred at the venue in Panaiyur. According to preliminary reports, Karthikeyan suffered a fatal electric shock while engaging in art direction work, erecting a house-like set for the movie's shooting, police said
Kanathur police said FIR is yet to be filed, but further investigations are underway to determine the circumstances that led to the electrical leak.
