Mangaluru: Parliamentary Secretary to Karnataka CM, Ivan D’Souza on Monday said that he will discuss the problems in issuing property cards with the Revenue Minister and will try to get it resolved soon.

He was speaking to reporters during his visit to the property cards registration office near near Mini Vidhan Soudha here in the city on Monday.

He added that of 1,53,000 people residing within the limits of Mangaluru City Corporation nearly 41,000 people have received their property cards so far while also adding that it will need more employees to distribute the property cards soon.

He further added that he will take up the issue with Revenue Minister to make the process smooth for people.

Nanded (PTI): Four children, aged between 10 and 13 years, drowned in a water-filled pit near a drain work site in Maharashtra’s Nanded on Thursday, police said.

The incident occurred around 11.30 am near MGR Garden in the Degloor Naka area of the city, said an official.

According to the police, the civic body is constructing a drain in the area. There is a 15-foot-deep pit near the site where wastewater had accumulated, they said.

Four children, all residents of Islampura, went to the spot to play and eventually entered the water without gauging its depth, said the official.

Hearing their cries, police and local residents rushed to the spot but could not save the boys, he said.

The children have been identified as Mohammad Adnan Mohammad Feroz (10), Mohammad Ali Mohammad Idris (13), Sayyed Irfan Sayyed Feroz (13) and Aayan Ibrahim Bagwan (11).

No case has been registered so far, he added.
