Udupi: Three lady officers of the Udupi district actively participated in various sports competitions organized by the Udupi district administration and district sweep committee, at Malpe Beach to mark the International Women's Day.

Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati, Superintendent of Police Nisha James and ZP Chief Executive Officer Sindhu B. Rupesh, were enthusiastic competitors in the women's tug of war today.

Speaking after inaugurating the programme, Deputy Commissioner Hephsiba Rani Korlapati said that the programme was organised to create awareness about voting. "The Constitution provides every citizen of India the right to vote. All must exercise their franchise," she said. 

Members of Stri Shakti Organisation, lady staff from the DC office, and others participated in the event.

Manama: A video circulating on social media showing a drone striking a building in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, has been verified by Al Jazeera, confirming its authenticity.

Earlier, the news network, citing Bahrain’s Interior Ministry, had reported that several residential buildings were targeted in the incident.

The verified footage shows an Iranian drone hitting a tower in Manama.

A loud explosion is heard at the moment of impact, followed by a large fire and thick plumes of smoke billowing from the building.
