Youth Congress General Secretary resigns opposing Mithun Rai's candidature
Mangaluru: Mangaluru South Assembly constituency's Youth Congress General Secretary Karthik Poojary has resigned alleging that the party has ignored Billawas and gave the ticket to Mithun Rai for the Lok Sabha elections.
"I have served as the general secretary of the Youth Congress in Mangaluru Assembly constituency for the past two years. Six months ago, the party had suspended the District Congress youth president Mithun Rai. During his term, he did not cooperate with the poor youths except his friends. This time, the Billawa community should had got the Lok Sabha ticket," he said in his letter.
Speaking with Varthabharati regarding this, Karthik Poojary said, "I resigned from my post opposing the injustice being done to the Billava Community. I have decided to support Modi now. Yet I have not decided to join BJP. It will be decided in the future."

Passenger from Mumbai caught with 500g of Hydroponic Ganja at Mangaluru Airport
Mangaluru: A domestic air traveller from Mumbai was detained at Mangaluru International Airport on Monday evening after officials found around 500 grams of hydroponic ganja hidden in his luggage.
The accused, identified as Shankar Narayan Poddar, had arrived on an IndiGo flight that landed at 6:10 pm. Based on a tip-off, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel intercepted and questioned him shortly after arrival.
During the inspection of his checked-in baggage, officials discovered approximately 512 grams of hydroponic ganja.
The passenger, along with the confiscated substance, were handed over to the Bajpe Police Station for further investigation and legal action.
