Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 45 new positive cases of coronavirus on Friday, taking the total number of cases in the state to over 750, a health bulletin issued by Department of Health and Family Welfare informed.
The high number of new cases that came to the fore on Friday were the results of 14 new cases that were from Davangere, 12 in Bhatkal of Uttara Kannada, 11 in Belagavi, 7 in Bengaluru and 1 in Bellari that were reported between Thursday 5pm and Friday 12 pm.
In Bhatkal, three children including a five-month old infant tested positive for the deadly virus.
All the 12 people who tested positive in Bhatkal on Friday were reportedly the direct contact with the 18-year old girl who had tested positive on May 5.
The state has seen a total of 371 people recover from the virus who have been discharged from the hospital while it has witnessed 30 deaths due to the virus ever since its breakdown.

Hubballi: Karnataka Lokayukta officials on Friday conducted raids at multiple zonal offices of the Hubballi-Dharwad City Corporation following complaints alleging bribery and delay in issuing land-related documents, including e-Swathu records.
The raids were carried out in the morning under the leadership of Siddalingappa S.T.. Separate teams inspected 12 zonal offices of the Corporation and examined records linked to land ownership and document processing.
According to sources, the Lokayukta received complaints from members of the public alleging that Corporation officials were demanding bribes for issuing e-Swathu and other land documents.
Residents reportedly alleged that applications were being deliberately delayed if bribes were not paid.
Based on these complaints, officials carried out inspections of files and records connected to land ownership and issuance of documents.
Further investigation is underway.
