16-year-old school boy in Kalaburagi commits suicide after youngsters harass him; FIR filed
Kalaburagi: A 16-year-old boy in Kurikota village of Kamalapura taluk allegedly committed suicide after being harassed by a group of young men in the village.
The deceased teenager, Prashanth Ashtagi, was studying in Class 10 at the Aurad (B) High School. His father, who filed a complaint with the Mahagaon Police officers, has said that Prashanth was being verbally abused and threatened by a youngster in the village and some of his friends. The youngsters had also physically assaulted the boy, as a result of which, Prashanth was depressed and committed suicide. Prashanth’s father has requested the officers to take due action against the guilty.
The Mahagaon Police officers have filed an FIR and are investigating the matter.

Nine killed, 25 injured as state transport bus overturns in Maharashtra's Gondia district
Gondia (PTI): At least nine passengers were killed and 25 others injured when a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus overturned in Gondia district on Friday afternoon, police said.
Citing preliminary information, a senior police official said the MSRTC bus 'Shiv Shahi' was carrying 36 passengers and heading to Gondia district from Bhandara when it flipped over at Davva village under Sadakarjuni taluka while trying to overtake another vehicle.
Nine passengers were killed and 25 others injured in the accident which took place at around 12.30 pm, he said.
The injured passengers were shifted to hospital, the official added.
