Bengaluru: As many as 170 police staff members have tested positive for Coronavirus in the state.

According to the sources, the State capital, Bengaluru top the list of most police personnel infected with the virus. Bengaluru reportedly has 77 police personnel who are infected with the deadly virus. Seven of 77 officers have recovered and have been discharged, reports added.

Three police staff members have died due to coronavirus in Bengaluru and are 67 of them are under treatment.

According to sources, the infected police staff members are being treated at the Victoria Hospital, Bengaluru.

93 other police personnel have tested positive across the state, including 59 patients who have recovered and 34 under treatment.

Of the infected police staff members, most cases are of KSRP and law and order division. Some of the traffic police and the CCB staff members who have worked outside the office have been infected, said the sources.

Bengaluru (PTI): Two people were arrested at the Kempegowda International Airport here for attempting to smuggle hydroponic ganja valued at Rs 5.79 crore, upon their arrival from Bangkok on Wednesday, officials said

They seized 16.54 kg of hydroponic ganja, which was concealed in the checked-in baggage, the Bengaluru Customs said in a post on 'X'.

Both the accused were arrested under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, it said.

Meanwhile, the Customs officials at the Bengaluru Airport also disposed of 287.5 kg of Ganja (Hydroponic Weed) and 1.17 kg of Cocaine seized under the NDPS Act, 1985, in accordance with CBIC (Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs) Disposal Manual on March 17, it said in another post.
