25 lakhs offered for confessing to Gauri murder: Alleges Waghmore
Bengaluru: SIT officials offered to give Rs.25 lakh to my family if I confess that I gunned down activist-journalist Gauri Lankesh, alleged the prime accused Parashuram Waghmore.
Ten accused in the case were brought to the city court after completion of the judicial custody. Meanwhile, speaking to press persons from the police van, he alleged that the SIT officers threatened to arrest his family members if he does not confess to the crime.
What did Waghmore say?
We have been targeted in the Gauri murder case. But we did not commit any crime. The investigating officers have forcibly recorded our statements. They offered Rs 25 lakh for our family members if we confess to the crime, he alleged.
