Bengaluru: A 35-year-old man was beaten to death on a street in Yeshwantpur, Bengaluru, allegedly by his lover’s family, who dragged him out of his home and assaulted him in broad daylight, according to his relatives.

The victim, identified as Narasimharaja, also known as Raja, had been in a relationship with Lakshmi, a widow, for over two years. On Saturday, Lakshmi visited Raja's house in Muthyalamma Nagar, where her family members barged in, dragged him outside, and began the brutal assault while bystanders watched, as reported by Deccan Herald.

When Raja’s mother attempted to intervene and stop the attack, she was allegedly assaulted by the gang as well. Unfortunately, Raja succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead upon arrival at a hospital.

Police did not arrest the suspects despite their complaint, DH wrote in its report citing his family members. They shared CCTV footage with the media on Tuesday and sought immediate action.

A senior police officer stated that the circumstances surrounding the death are still under investigation, and a case of suspicious death has been registered. Authorities are awaiting post-mortem and forensic reports before taking further action.

Bengaluru: Ahead of the upcoming Good Friday festival weekend, the South Western Railway has announced a one-trip special train service between Yesvantpur Junction and Kannur via Mangaluru Junction.

According to an official released from the SWR, Train Number 06551 Yesvantpur–Kannur Express Special will depart Yesvantpur at 11.50 am on April 2 and is scheduled to arrive Kannur at 3.00 am on April 3.

In the return direction, Train Number 06552 Kannur–Yesvantpur Express Special will leave Kannur at 8.45 am on April 3 and reach Yesvantpur at 9.30 pm the same day.

The special train will halt at Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpura, Subrahmanya Road, Kabaka Puttur, Bantawala, Mangaluru Junction, Kasaragod, Kanhangad and Payyannur.

The train composition will have two AC two-tier coaches, six AC three-tier coaches, seven sleeper class coaches, four general second class coaches.
