54 new corona case raise State's tally to 848: 422 patients recovered
Bengaluru: 54 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Sunday has raised the state's tally to 848, as per the Health Bulletin issued on Sunday evening. With the death of a 56-year-old woman in Bengaluru, who died on May 7, the death toll has risen to 31.
Of the new 54 cases, Belagavi reported 22, Shivamogga and Bagalkot 8 each, Bhatkal 7, Bengluru Urban 3, Kalburgi 4, Davanagere and Chikkaballapur 1 each.
Of 847 cases, 422 have been discharged hospitals after recovery, and 31 persons have been died, said the Health Bulletin.
Shivamogga, which was a green zone until Saturday, reported eight fresh cases in a day. Seven persons from Shikaripura and one from Teertahalli have been tested positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

Biker injured, leopard dies in road accident near forest area in Shivamogga
Shivamogga: A leopard was killed after being hit by a motorcycle near Mandagadde in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district.
According to reports, the biker was travelling from Shivamogga towards Thirthahalli when the leopard suddenly came onto the road from a nearby forest area near Mandagadde. The rider is said to have lost control of the bike and crashed into the animal.
The leopard suffered severe injuries in the impact and died on the spot. The biker also fell onto the road along with the motorcycle and sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to a hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment.
After receiving information about the incident, forest department officials, including Gajanur RFO Vinay Kumar, visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
