Bengaluru: The Anti-Corruption Bureau reportedly conducted raids at 9 places in Bengaluru on Tuesday morning, suspecting brokers, agents of indulging in corrupt and illegal practices to pressurize the public using their influence and undertaking other unlawful activities in Bengaluru.

Hassan: Prominent JDS leader, former Legislative Council member, and Apex Bank director Patel Shivaram (75) passed away today following a heart attack at his Housing Board residence in Hassan.

Shivaram had been unwell for several days. He served as a Legislative Council member from 2010 to 2016 and was a close associate of former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda. He also held positions such as chairman and director of HDCC Bank and director of the Hassan Milk Union.

A prominent leader in the JDS for nearly four decades, he was known for his influence in Hassan. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, and a son.

JDS leaders and supporters have expressed their condolences on his demise.
