After months of suspense, JD(S) gets new state president, youth wing president
Bengaluru: JD(S) party on Thursday announced its new state president and Secretary, after party’s state President A H Vishwanath resigned from the post following party’s poor performance in the Lok Sabha Election.
JD(S) HD Devegowda while addressing a press conference on Thursday said “Vishwanath resigned following my defeat from Tumkur in Lok Sabha Election. Now I have named five-time MLA and former Minister H K Kumaraswamy as the new state president of the party”.
He also announced that Madhu Bangarappa will be the working president of the party. “Madhu Bangarappa will be the working president of JDS. We have decided to have only one working president, there is no question of multiple working presidents,” he said.
The former PM also announced that Nikhil Kumaraswamy will be the new chief of the party’s youth wing.

Israeli defence minister says attacks against Iran will 'increase significantly' next week
Dubai (AP): Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said that attacks against Iran will “increase significantly” in the coming week.
Katz spoke on Saturday, hours after US President Donald Trump said he was considering “winding down” military operations in the Mideast.
“This week, the intensity of the attacks that the IDF and the US military will carry out against the Iranian terrorist regime and against the infrastructures on which it relies will increase significantly,” Katz said in a video statement.
