Chamarajanagar: Members of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha in the district have come to the streets staging a campaign with posters and slogans demanding the government to provide better relief to farmers.

The campaign was launched recently in Gundlupet, Chamarajanagar district, where ‘Payfarmer’ posters were put up on the walls of the guest house in the town.

The posters, incidentally, are similar in looks to the ‘PayCM’ poster that raised much hue and cry in the state a few days back.

Shivapura Mahadevappa, farmer leader, said, “The problem of farmers does not subside regardless of the party in power. No government pays attention to the needs of farmers. Some people are so focused on gaining power that they are disinterested in the overall development of agriculture and farmers.”

The leader also demanded that a suitable price be fixed for the farm produces.

Tehran/Doha: Iran’s President Massoud Pezeshkian has warned that attacks on the country’s energy infrastructure could lead to “uncontrollable consequences” affecting the entire world.

In a post on X, Pezeshkian said he “strongly condemns” the strikes that targeted the South Pars gasfield earlier in the day.

“Such aggressive actions will not achieve anything for the American Zionist enemy and their supporters. Rather, they will complicate the situation and could lead to uncontrollable consequences that will affect the entire world,” he said.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has urged residents to remain indoors due to what it described as an elevated security threat.

Authorities have not provided further details, but the advisory comes amid growing concerns over the safety of energy infrastructure and civilian areas in the region.
