Bengaluru: The video of Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah rebuking Minister of Social Welfare Department and Backward Classes Welfare Department of Karnataka Kota Srinivas Poojary during an election campaign conference has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred recently in Udupi, Karnataka, and has been widely criticized by the opposition party, Karnataka Congress.
On Sunday, Karnataka Congress shared the video on its Twitter handle and criticized Shah for publicly scolding Poojary, who is a senior leader of the BJP. The party claimed that nobody in the BJP has any sort of freedom in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah. It further accused the BJP of creating slaves who would only bootlick Shah, rather than developing leaders.
In response to the video, KPCC, the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, has accused Amit Shah of insulting Kannadigas as well as people from Backward Classes by rebuking Kota Srinivas Poojary like a child. The party has criticized Shah's behavior, stating that it requires people to have no self-respect but only respect for Shah.
The video has stirred controversy and drawn criticism from various political parties in Karnataka. The incident has also brought into question the leadership style of senior BJP leaders and the treatment of party members in public.

Mangaluru (Karnataka), Jan 11: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has urged Dakshina Kannada MP Brijesh Chowta to organise an energy security summit in Mangaluru in collaboration with oil marketing companies.
Puri was addressing a session on India’s energy security at the seventh edition of the Mangaluru Literature Festival on Saturday.
He said the proposed summit could serve as an extension of India Energy Week, which he described as the “fulcrum” of the country's energy sector engagements.
“We can easily do it. If you want to organise an event here, talk to the oil marketing companies—I will support it,” the Minister said in response to a question on expanding energy summits beyond major cities.
Puri also invited the public to attend India Energy Week, scheduled next month.
“We started three years ago, and today it is the largest energy show in the world. It integrates fossil fuels, emerging technologies, and startups in the energy sector,” added Puri.
He said a permanent exhibition facility is being developed in Goa on the land provided by Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), similar to Bharat Mandapam and YashoBhoomi in Delhi, to host global energy conferences.
