Mysuru: Disgruntled over ticket denial to Vijayendra, BJP workers hit the photos of the party leaders with slippers to vent their anger.

The BJP workers, who got to know that Yeddyurappa is staying in a hotel on Mysuru-Nanjangudu road after getting escaped from Nanjangudu convention, besieged the hotel.

The angry BJP men then staged a flash protest by hitting the photos of union ministers Anantkumar, Anant Kumar Hegde, MP Pratap Simha and R Ashok with slippers. The protesters burnt saffron and BJP flags.

Ramdas gheraoed

The situation took a turn to the worse when former Minister S.A. Ramdas, who is contesting from Krishnaraja constituency, entered the scene which led to a fresh outburst. He was heckled by the workers and was whisked out of the hotel to the road.

Mr. Ramdas tried to make a statement but was shouted down as the activists demanded that he withdraw from fray, bringing the simmering discontent in the BJP in Mysuru to the fore. An emotional Mr. Ramdas announced that he would refuse to contest in case Mr. Vijayendra was not fielded from Varuna.

Lathi Charge

The police had to intervene and resort to lathi charge to bring the situation under control.
