Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police have identified the person who has recently come under suspicion for avoiding a security check at the Majestic Metro Station. He has been identified as Sajid Khan and he is a displaced person.

It has been revealed through the inquiry that he along with his family members used to beg for alms outside a mosque near the Metro Station.

It was said that, the metal detector gave an alarm when he walk through it, because of the huge amount of coins he had in his pocket.

Four special police teams were involved to search him. Sajid is known to be from Rajasthan.

Bengaluru (PTI): The Karnataka Municipalities and Certain Other Law (Amendment) Bill, 2026 that makes provisions for advertisements on a par with the provisions of the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act, 2024, for levying and collection of fees on advertisements, was tabled in the Legislative Assembly on Friday.

The Bill tabled by Minister for Urban Development Byrathi Suresh also provides for the regulation of unauthorised advertisements and the validation of fees and penalties in municipalities and municipal corporations. 

The Bill is likely to be taken up for discussion next week.
