Bengaluru: An arrest warrant has been issued against former Indian cricketer Robin Uthappa in connection with alleged Employee Provident Fund (EPF) fraud.
The warrant, issued by Shadakshara Gopal Reddy, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II and Recovery Officer of KR Puram in Bengaluru, pertains to a pending recovery of ₹23.36 lakh. Uthappa is reportedly a director of Centaurus Lifestyle Brands Pvt. Ltd., which has been identified as the defaulter.
In his order, Reddy highlighted that the non-remittance of dues had hindered the settlement of Provident Fund accounts for workers. The Pulakeshinagar police have been instructed to execute the warrant and return it by December 27.
The order further states that the warrant will be nullified if Uthappa clears the outstanding dues.
