Belagavi: Another maternal death at BIMS; Second case in four days
Belagavi: Another maternal death has been reported in the taluk within a span of four days.
The deceased has been identified as Gangavva Gondakundri (31) from Karadiguddi village in Belagavi taluk. She was admitted to BIMS for delivery on January 28 and gave birth to a baby boy through a C-section on January 31.
While the baby is healthy, Gangavva reportedly passed away due to low blood pressure. A native of Madluru village in Savadatti taluk, she was married to Lakkappa from Karadiguddi 12 years ago. This was her first pregnancy after 12 years of marriage.
Four days ago, another maternal death was reported in the taluk, involving Anjali Patil from Nilaji village.

Three arrested in stone-pelting incident in Chikkamagaluru
Chikkamagaluru: Police have arrested three persons in connection with a recent stone-pelting incident at a house in the city’s Vijayapura locality and the violence that followed.
The arrested persons have been identified as Bharat (23) of Gauri kaluve, Dilip (27) of Ramanahalli, and Harish, the owner of the motorcycle allegedly used in the incident.
According to police, the accused had been moving around near the complainant’s house on motorcycles for three days prior to the incident. The investigation has also revealed that there had been an earlier argument between the accused and the complainant.
Police said further inquiry is under way to determine the exact motive behind the stone-pelting and whether others were involved.
