Bengaluru: A 30-year-old man was on Tuesday mowed down by a BMTC Bus here under the jurisdiction of Peenya Police Station in the city.
The deceased youngster has been identified as Deepak, who hails from Varanasi.
According to the police, the incident took place when Deepak’s was attempting to overtake the bus from the left side, the rear side of the bus hit Deepak's two-wheeler and he came under the rear tyre of the bus and died.
Police further added that Deepak had moved to the city three months ago and was working in a private company. He was returning home after his work shift when the accident took place.
Local police reached the spot and detained the bus driver before registering a case in this regard.

Mumbai (PTI): A 75-year-old man died after some portion of a slab in a two-storey residential structure collapsed on him in Mumbai's Bhandup area on Saturday morning, officials said.
The incident occurred at Tulshipada in Patkar Compound of Bhandup West around 9.45 am, they said.
"The victim, identified as Susai Daevdas Kaunder, was injured when some part of the slab on the upper floor of a two-storey structure fell on him," a civic official said.
He was immediately taken to nearby Navkaar Hospital, where he was declared dead, the official said.
