Bengaluru, July 29: A two-wheeler rider died on the spot when he lost control over it and rammed to a road divider in Hebbal traffic police station limits in the city on Sunday.
The deceased is identified as Nishad. Hailed from Kerala, he was residing in Koramangala. On Sunday morning, he was going with a bike riding team from the city to Nandi Hills. While riding the bike near Kodigehalli flyover, he lost control over his motorbike and hit the divider.
The intensity of the accident was so much that the body of Nishad was thrown out to around 30 mts away and pillion rider Naveed sustained severe injuries and undergoing treatment. After the accident, the traffic movement on Airport Road was hampered for almost one hour. As a result, those who were on their way to Airport, had to take U-turn and used alternative route via Kodigehalli gate to reach the Airport road. As the motorists took their vehicles in reverse direction, the traffic movement was further hampered.
The body was shifted to Victoria hospital for postmortem. Hebbal traffic police registered a case.

New Delhi (PTI): Vice President C P Radhakrishnan on Monday expressed sorrow at the death of 10 patients in a fire at a hospital in Odisha's Cuttack.
In a social media post, the vice president said he was deeply saddened by the tragic fire incident.
"My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grief. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," he said.
At least ten patients were killed after a fire erupted in an ICU in Odisha government-run SCB Medical College and Hospital early Monday.
Around 11 hospital staff members suffered burn injuries while rescuing patients to safety.
