Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged fraud and cheating case of IMA Group of Companies involving thousands of crores rupees on Tuesday raided several branches of IMA Jewels in the city.

The police said that it seized 41 kg of jewellery worth Rs 11.34 crore, precious gems and diamonds, cash Rs. over five lakh, 32 revolvers, 58 bullets and documents pertaining to several properties during the raid at the IMA branches in Shivajinagar of Bengaluru.

The police on Monday had also assured owner of the company Mansoor Khan to protect his life if he surrenders to the investigating team. The assurance from the department came a day after Khan in a video released on YouTube offered to return to India and surrender if his life was protected by those plotting to kill him.

Chennai (PTI): A 51-year-old former faculty member of city-based Kalakshetra Foundation has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting two ex-students, police said.

The arrested was identified as Sheehjith Krishna.

Based on the directions of the Madras High Court, a preliminary enquiry was conducted on the complaint of two women that Krishna sexually assaulted them when they were students of Kalakshetra during the period 1995-2007, an official release on Tuesday said.

A case was registered against Krishna at the Neelankarai All-Women Police Station and a team led by an inspector arrested him. The accused was later remanded to judicial custody.
